Sealing Material Options For Riggers

      Fuel side / top plates and G35 top plate = 5/64" = 2mm wrench. Both will work.

    In the video, you demonstrated using only two screws to fixate the camera mount cut-out. Is it recommended to use four screws for better stability, or are two screws sufficient for secure mounting? If four screws are recommended, what size screws are needed?

    • @Chutingstar
      @Chutingstar 16 днів тому

      You'll use the 6 screws from the original plate assembled to your G35 plus 2 screws from the Utility Plate package. So it's a total of 8 screws holding the Utility Plate on. We didn't show that part of the full assembly in this demo, but you will use a total of 8 screws. Another video that may help is this one from Cookie: fb.watch/sSJtL7Js50/

    Seems like plastic is going backwards. Why not copper? We don't need any more plastic floating around. Lead can also easily be recycled.

      Well, that is the purpose of the system, to be able to jettison the camera and mount in the event of an entanglement. For the setup to break it would have to be hit very strongly, but yes basically if you have to cut away to save your life you will lose the camera and mount.

    Well done, good job, glad you already had it turned on...however in each of your Vids on the Junos you don't cover turning it on or off...any chance you can confirm how exactly it is turned on and off thanks muchly coz that's all I need to know, and its like trying to find out some dark hidden art as it's not even covered on their own website 😤

      Life is too short to get upset about the silliest things... Alti-2 and most digital altimeters currently on the market switch to sleep mode when not registering any pressure changes for a few hours and then wakes up as soon as any button is pressed or it starts registering differences in altitude. Blue skies!

      @@Chutingstar amen...at least I now know, praise the Lord 🙏...Interesting sentiment in your reply, but let's not get hung up on silly sentiments...When I bought the Juno new several weeks ago, there were no instructions in the box, there are no specific instructions on their own website and so that's what spurred my attempts to find out as a virgin digital Alti user. I got your reply today having jumped yesterday. I had decided to assume what you've advised to be the case, my main concern being that after fully charging the Juno when I unboxed it, set it up etc and put it back in the box awaiting my next jumps, it was completely dead, and needed another full charge to get it going again. I would have expected a sleep mode that essentially turns it off not to continue using the battery...is it not odd that it died from being full charged without being used if what you are saying is the case, or does it use the battery whilst in sleep mode? Anyway, not being sure what was going on with it I gave it another full charge, set it up and as said jumped with it yesterday, with my old skool aff alti as back up, and as I'm now writing this, we'll, all went well 👍...I shouldn't think I'm the only person who needed to know, and would be worth updating your helpful Vids to include this minor yet important bit of info for the novice user...keep Chuting for the Stars, thanks muchly from little old US of England 🇬🇧🤙🇺🇸

      @@jamesstevenson5631 No worries! Regarding the unit's charge, I am not sure why it is not holding it as Alti-2 claims it can be charged every 4-8 weeks depending on the use of course this may vary. But it could also need a Firmware update which you can do online at this link: alti-2.com/firmware-updates/ If that doesn't solve the issue then you might want to contact Alti-2 UK directly since it is a new unit they can help sort this out. Here is where you can find their information: alti-2.com/repairs/ I hope this helps, Cheers!

    I just passed into the danger zone. I also just moved to a new DZ. One of the biggest things for me was the new sight picture. The wind is also insane here sometimes. That jump out of a PAC, new sight picture and crazy wind patterns was an experience. I did a massive down wind and when I hit the breaks it was like warp speed. Everyone ate it except me and I really think it's because I stayed calm and flared the same as I always do. Germain's book and shows like this have helped me a ton so far skydiving. I also don't give a sht if I pull off of a load. I live 5 mins from the DZ now and can jump just about whenever.

    I see some problems with this system. 1.) It's plastic and the little fuse that you have to push in will be the first thing that either breaks off or becomes unusable in some other way, such as friction. 2.) The price. Why didn't stronger magnets simply be installed in the previous system? 3.) No more guidance, thanks to the round base in the middle. In a stress situation, you throw away the helmet faster, than find this little button.

    The Spinletto! I think most people say get used gear when you start and I think that's not the best advice. You can buy a container that's very small and get everything low pack. Spend the money up front. I got the Icon V, Pilot 188 LPV/Optimum, Shyhook, Cyprus, and it can fit a 140. Now I will say I only got the Icon because of the wait times. Now that I'm living down the street from UPT I'm ordering a Vector. The Pilot is so much fun to fly I love that canopy. All in all get with your rigger and they will find you a rig.

    Dude you need to get on Dean Ricci's podcast! I know you used to do skydive radio a long time ago. It's about time Cookie makes something that doesn't look like a plastic shell.

      Unfortunately, I think that's just the way of the skydiving world these days with helmets. Carbon fiber has gone to the wayside for most of the manufacturers.

      @@Chutingstar I think a lot of people actually like that it's plastic too. I really like those guys I just never really fell in love with the way it fit me.

      @@BurninatorTheTrogdor Right on...head shape vs helmet shape is a real thing. I too have found some of these helmets more comfortable than others just because it fits me better...and not necessarily because it has better padding, construction, features or whathaveyou.

      @@Chutingstar Cookie is definitely a quality product. And my head is odd shaped. That's been my problem from the beginning of the sport for me. Thanks!

    Which altimeter do you recommend for accurately recording altitudes of mountains during hiking/mountaineering? I'm looking for portability and accuracy

      I would recommend a handheld GPS unit like the Garmin Fortrex 801 rather than a skydiving altimeter. You can find them at www.chutingstar.com/garmin-foretrex-801-wrist-mount-gps

    So the orange/blue gradient for the g35 is the same level of darkness as the g4's blue and orange? But the tint on the g35 is darker than the g4?

    safety stow! after a cutaway, it may separate from the free bag, or it may have been worn to the point it can't be reused. generally around $10, good to have anyway. repack time comes, it's time to replace it, your rigger may not have one on hand and depending on where you live, could take a week or so to get one. your mileage may vary.

      Thank you, yes that would be great to have, but also a "Cutaway spare parts kit" for your container system, just in case...

    This doesn't explain how to mount the ragged mount.

    • @Chutingstar
      @Chutingstar 8 місяців тому

      The Ragged Mounts Altimeter mount installation is super easy! adjust the length of the strap, thread it behind the mudflap or ring cover, and loop the rubber ring around the aluminium plate to secure. For reference, you can scroll through the pictures at www.chutingstar.com/skydive/altimeters/altimeter-mounts/ragged-mounts-mudflap-altimeter-mount to have an idea of how it should look like.
